Recommended coolantsAll major automakers have transitioned into extended life coolants using DAT or HOAT chemistry. IAT coolants ill be needed until these vehicles are taken out of service or the automaker approves the use of the extended life coolants in these models.
The OEM Position: Manufacturers state that using the wrong coolant could have warranty implications. Newer DaimlerChrysler vehicles specifically mention HOAT in the owner's manual while Ford goes as far as to say not to use "orange" OAT type coolants in newer Ford vehicles.
